New Beer
Double BW will be out June 1st. Our new beer will be much lower in alcohol than our current lineup. This will be a Belgian Wheat Beer with a touch of Lemongrass, for a light lemon zip. This will be a perfect summer beer and will be available June 1st.
New Fermentor
To make sure we would be able to brew our beer when you wanted it; we ordered a custom made 1,000 gallon fermentor in January. It will arrive around April 10th.
Used Kegs
We recently picked up 123 kegs to go along with the 1,000 gallon fermentor. We have to put all that beer somewhere. Blue Point Brewery in NY decided they needed to go to 15.5 gallon kegs. So I rented a 16 foot box truck, drove out there, rooted through well over 500 kegs to cherry pick 181 kegs of which I kept 116 - 50 liter (13.2 gallon) kegs and 7 - 5.16 gal kegs. Two other brewer friends wanted a few. Now have over 150 kegs looking for beer. We will be painting them Royal Blue with a big white BOAKS logo in both sides.
Philly Beer Week
We spent four days in the Philly area recently during Philly Beer Week. We were at the Navy Yard Festival, Brewers Plate, Manny Browns, and The Gray Lodge Pub.
Boaks Beer in Eastern PA Aiming for Western PA
Stockertown Beverage in Stockertown PA (610) 746-5611 distributes our beer in Eastern Pennsylvania, including the wonderful bars of Philadelphia. We hope to be available in Western PA, Pittsburg Area, in the summer. We plan on participating in beer festivals and doing individual appearances at locations throughout Pennsylvania.
Brewery Tour
Brian Boak will lead tours of High Point Brewery where Boaks Beer is brewed. He will explain the entire process of brewing beer from start to finish. We have a tour the 2nd Saturday of every month at High Point Brewery, 22 Park Place, Butler, NJ. Due to restrictions samples of Boaks Beer are not available but samples of High Point's flagship Ramstein beers will be available. Tour/Tastings are from 2pm to 4pm.
